GhostMiner
I am looking for someone who has a good placer gold claim that has the prospecting out of the way and would like to take it to the next level with heavy equipment. I would prefer someone who knows how to run a backhoe or excavator & skid steer. You would need access to water. Depending on gold values and depth of deposits we would need anywhere from 30 yards - 300 ysrds of gold bearing gravels washed per week. I would also like the potential in the ground for a scale up of this operation as it is proven. My part would be helping with a Plan of Operation & water license as well as equipment funding. You would supply the labor and passion to make your dream come true. I have been successfull in proving ground and leasing out claims to miners who used to be prospectors. Now I am looking for good partners who want to mine. I am a successful business person who is invested in not only mining but battery recycling. I would immediately bring in a Pioneer 30 Gold Claimer Trommel for the start of operation as well as a skid steer for loading pay gravel & a small to mid size excavator. I am also knowledgeable in setting up an operation. Cheers, GM.

Mike Furness
I really like your idea. I'm a bit old, 74, to be starting over again but I will be watching and reading about your progress. If this were 20 years ago I would be your man on the job.

Red_desert
I'll be turning older, end of this month. Already have been on fixed Social Security income a couple years now. Had to take it early, way things are going you probably could earn more with placer mining. Because I took SS early, the income amount was based on me not working. I think the way it is at present time you can work all you want after reaching full retirement age.

This is true, I'm at full retirement age and I can work and earn as much as I like and still get my full SS amount, which I'm doing, still working my full time job and getting my full SS check every month.
Red_desert
Yeah, that certainly will leave it open possibles to being able to mine gold until you drop. Sure don't want to go back to framing new homes, can't take working out in winter cold anymore. Did concrete also during those years, too much digging with pick and shovel. After that tried factory work 5 1/2 years making pontoon boats (much too stressful). Boats are built on a line, same as trailers or automobiles. GhostMiner
By the time I was 30 I had learned that when you work for someone else you will never be paid what you're worth and you don't have much say in things. At that point in my life I decided to start running my own business as well as be an investor in some good ones as well. It all worked out. I haven't worked at what you would be called a job in many yrs. If you are young and want to be independent as well as be your own boss make a plan and go for it. Don't let yourself get trapped into a dead end job working for someone who couldn't care less about your future. Just my advice - take it or leave it.
Red_desert
I had planned on setting up to do paintings at home by retirement time. Problem was by that time was just finished with getting all the paper and paint ordered. Ended up using a school supply catalog which sells class packs the only way to buy in bulk cheap. Gesso primer by the gallon pails, half gallon jugs of student acrylic paint. I joined an art society in Hawaii (thinking really big) which has 1 month long art shows throughout the year (but now on Social Security can't afford to go there). Last June got a telephone call from a former president of the society, to inform me they wanted to start doing Zoom meetings for members living off the big island. Started getting a painting ready but not finished soon enough for Zoom meetup. Now Arizona, Neveda, other southwestern states have a cluster of societies which belong to a "Western Federation" of artists. Join one of the societies and you are in the Federation being eligible to enter those art shows plus society only exhibits. Problem there is you need to live part or all year in the area to take photographs in the mountains and deserts (to paint). Western Federation was started by a society in southern Arizona. I'm not sure which way to go on that so, at the present not really doing much of anything. You could combine the mining or prospecting with photography and artwork. Assuming those societies and the Federation are still what they were a few years back. Edited March 7 by Red_desert
