Hello all I am new to this site but have always loved rocks of all types when I was busy one day with a yard sale an  Older gentlemen showed up and struck up a conversation.  His 1st wife ,who had passed, had been a silver smith and they had spent years mining ores and collecting semi precious i stones that he cut and polished and she set in silver. Sadly he ended up with  parkinson's disease and he passed. Before he did he brought me boxes and boxes of rocks from his garage that he wanted me to have. My sample that I'm posting today came from one of those boxes of rocks. Went in looking very plain c ame out a surprise. They are so often a surprise aren't they?

Welcome to the forum SB ... most times rocks in nature don't look at all like the potential they have when properly polished. I have seen some plain Jane granites here in New England that looked so-so only to see it polished with great character.
