Strange sparkling rock found on beach in southern UK Identification

Recommended Posts

Hi all, can anyone help us identify this rock? It was found in shallow water on a beach in the UK (south coast) and was sparkling like glitter under the water. We have tried to capture the sparkling in the photos as much as possible. Been exploring the beaches here and in the north for years and never found anything like it before.

The last two photos are of the rock wet so it looks the same colours as we found it.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, we have tried the usual identify this rock app but they do not know.

I'm probably wrong but it looks like some type of geode that broke open and the interior became somewhat water worn.

I'm sure others have an opinion. That's mine.

Thanks so much, it could be a geode. It is very worn, the photos do not do the glittering surface justice
