Dakota Slim
As Lake Mead dries up I would imagine more that a few meteorites are being exposed. https://www.wane.com/top-stories/more-human-remains-found-in-nevada-lake/
Morlock
If someone does find one it would probably be by a hobbyist using a metal detector and not someone looking specifically for meteorites. You'd find a lot of junk from decades of fishing, partying, etc. I doubt if it would be worth the time.
chrisski
I wonder if you’d even be able to tell they’re meteorites with the minerals from teh water around them. The reservoirs around here leave an ugly white deposit around rocks as the water dries up.
Dakota Slim
Good point guys. With all the trash and minerals it would be difficult.
Mikestang
Also, the lake is only about 70 years old, there would be records of any recent falls in the area that may have landed in the lake. Not long enough for anything to accrue otherwise...
