Andrew Valusha
Hello! I am a new member of your forum! I found a stone, it magnetizes, leaves no trace on the reverse side of the overlay tile. There are inclusions all over the surface (maybe metal?), could it be a meteorite? Thanks a lot!
Morlock
I don't see anything that makes me think they are meteorites.
Bedrock Bob
Hello Andrew! There are two stones in the photos. How do they relate to each other? Neither look like a meteorite. But if you have a magnetic rock that truly leaves no streak then you have an oddity for sure. Let's see that "metal" under a magnifying lens or a close up photo. Polish up a surface with fine sandpaper and look closely at the metal. Is it really metal? Take a small swab and dampen a polished surface with weak acid. Wait a few hours. See if it rusts. Streak it again. Use a ceramic sanding belt. Rub it hard and get some powder worked up. Make sure your streak test is valid. Good luck! Post the results!
Andrew Valusha
Hey! I left the stone for a few days in salt water, showing signs of rust. There is a white scratch on the underside of the tile. All photos show the same stone.
