Nice photos, Bill! :droolin:  That little quartz vein specimen is cool, I like how the gold also precipitated on the sides between the quartz and the surrounding host rock.  Specimens are interesting to look at that way when you can see how things formed inside and on them.

One more question: Does that  vein specimen look to you that it was filled in twice? I know when they fill up the pressure of the liquid forces the crack in the host rock to open wider, so it almost looks like there’s two layers of quartz with gold precipitated on each side of the layers on that specimen. Correct me if I’m wrong, it’s just the way the photo looks to me.
