Morlock
It won't be long before they have gold nugget finding drones using metal detector technology along with autonomous digging units. Just sit back and chug beer while your drone does all the work. I'll be wishing for the good old days when we actually had to walk to find gold.

Bedrock Bob
I know a whole bunch of nugget hunting drones. Im not sure they find many nuggets but they like to pretend they do. It makes sense to use AI for tasks like finding meteorites. And I bet the technology would be suited to a hand held scanner as well as a "drone". A camera connected to AI technology would be great for finding all sorts of things. Finding meteorites, identifying people, analyzing word patterns and sounds. The list goes on. You could fly it in a drone or wear it on your ten gallon hat. You would have a "detector" that would beep on just about whatever it was you wanted to find. I'll bet the new meteorite hunting drone ends up coming back over and over again with bits of Hematite and Basalt insisting they are meteorites from mars. ...
