JarheadOkie
New here, just recently got into rockhounding. Can anyone help identify this rock??
chrisski
To me it looks like Basalt, or lava rock, except for the glass in the bubbles. That does not look natural, so my guess is slag. Is it flat on one side, like molten metal poured on the ground and dried?
Bedrock Bob
That is vessicular basalt with some inclusions. The inclusions are probably chalcedony and quartz. Pretty common stuff in extrusive volcanic geology.
d_day
Appears to be amygdaloidal basalt.
