cavanaugh
I need a Pro. to go on vacation with me this spring. At 65 now 67. I started researching gold areas 3 years ago. I found semi virgin area that no one was prospecting at. I posted on detecting forums looking for people to go with me. People had to work, or weren't interested on taking a cheep weekend vacation. It would be a adventure in the great outdoor woods detecting rock cracks. I found a area where land plates go under other land plates and pushes rock straight up. Gold was made their 10 thousand years ago. Sounds good to me. What little gold is on the east coast. Is said to be the purest of any where. Being my last bucket list item at my late 60's . And now that a couple years have pasted with no one interested. I'm 67 and people just heard of this area last year. This spring has to be my time to do this or forget about it. Last year a man who studys minerals & rocks for a living in this gold area wrote. He didn't understand why people who were hunting for gold, never went to these area's looking for it. Then said if he was looking for gold. This is where he would go. It was area I was researching . Then this fall I get another post on Facebook. It said two new placer strikes found in this new area. This was this fall. So some people must have listen and went to these areas. Being first to a new area is unheard of and changes your luck. These areas are hundreds of miles with logging roads. It looks like a checkerboard with the cutting of trees their. That has to help with the searching out gold areas. So I'm hoping this spring will be my time to go. From what I've learned and read. It sounds like people listen to this geologist last year. Then went their for the first time to hunt for this gold. The people who went looking. Sounds like they ended up finding two placer strikes areas. These area's are in Maine- N.H. area. I would love to find a gold pro who knows what their doing and wants to take a get away for vacation with me this spring. I have a 4 wheel drive truck, and research info on bedrock, glacial retreat, fault lines, location of rocks and minerals which helps get things started. I have one shot at this and would enjoy GETTING RICH detecting gold. HA HA. Doesn't hurt to talk about it. Never looked for gold b-4 but I might be able to get lucky with a little help. Who wants to help plan and go with me on a small vacation looking for gold? Can PM me if interested
Morlock
We have a long time member - Mike Furness who is experienced and lives in that neck of the woods. But he hasn't visited the forum in awhile I don't believe. Might want to do a member search and PM him. Even if he's not interested in going, he could still help in some way.
chrisski
Very little public lands in that area, and what little there is would not be open to prospecting through the normal process we have in the west. Got some challenges.
Bedrock Bob
What Chris said. There are lots of places a guy can go and recover fantastic gold. I know a half dozen places I could make a few thousand bucks if I could just get in and work them. Locating a nugget is fairly easy in good ground. Locating a spot you can prospect in New Hampshire is probably a lot harder than figuring out where the gold is. Go with a gold pan and a shovel. If you can find a spot where you can get permission to pan a few colors then you can start thinking about how you can work it at a profit. Better yet drive out west and spend a couple days learning the ropes with some smelly goldbum in a dirty hat. Then take what you have learned to Pencilfreakingvania and apply it.
