d_day
What size are they? Do you know the hardness or specific gravity?
Guest
Looks like tumbled glass. What is the backstory?

Guest
Almandine. Hmmm , no cleavage, and fractures like glass(chonchoidal fracture). No scale in the pic, how big?

d_day
My first impression was garnets, but there was no size reference. The container I could see made them look much larger than they are, which made me think they might be sard. Now that we’ve got a size reference I’d say they are most likely garnets. I’d still like to know the hardness and specific gravity before concluding they are garnets, but at this point I’m at about 95% that that’s what they are.

Idaho Jim
Widely variable color, for garnets, assuming they were from one location. I just don't know for sure. Jim
