Mike Fernandes
So a few years ago an old buddy passed away, leaving his rock collection behind. I managed to snag these two before the pile he had was bulldozed over, unfortunately. They arent from Ohio where I got them, no idea of origins. Both are harder than quartz, about 4 inches across; the white rock is 1 pound in weight, the dark one 1.75lbs. I've had no luck with identification so far. Also notable, the white rocks top, flat surface appears to be composed of a bunch of pressed together crystals, it almost looks like flattened quartz. d_day
The dark one is a quartz filled agate. Not sure on the light colored one.
4meter
The white sample looks like box-work quartz, calcite or possible feldspar.
