I found this watch fob in an old mine dump near Gold Canyon which is S of Silver City NM on the Lordsburg Highway in about 1983.  One day I decided to visit Mogollon  NM which is N of silver City off of  NM 78 and sort of off the beaten path just to see  it and learn some of its history. To my surprise it was a thriving little village with mostly tourist type shops.One off them being the Jonas Howard General store. So I went in and asked for the owner , the man behind the counter said he was the owner and his name was Jonas Howard. So I took the watch fob out and showed it to him , intending to ask him about the history of all of it and give it to him.  He showed no interest what so ever in it . So I still have it. Its hard to get a picture on scan but it says in engraved script: Jno Howard Mogollon NM. On the reverse it says Sterling. As many has said on the forum you may find anything.
