Decided to Crush some ore I have had sitting on a shelf, and give it a little acid bath. The Horny Toad was a bonus :), I have been seeing a lot more of these little guys this year out detecting...

Nice job Dave, that acid sure does a good job.  So does that little guy with the big eyes.  The more rain the more bugs he knows just when to come out.  So prehistoric looking, love those guys.  :)

Great gold and awesome horney toad ... I love those guys ... They almost always lead me to the gold, just like Joe Noshoulders! ... When I see the horney toads early, I know I'm on to a golden spot! ... Cheers, Unc

Whink contains HF but very safe to use since it's diluted. It takes much longer but that's an advantage since you can check on it daily instead of hourly or even minutes.

Beautiful gold and one of my favorite AZ creatures! Love seeing the Horny Toads emerge. They seem to be lost in time but sure are good bug snatchers! Friendly little buggers too!
