lpro 2020 0
I put this in a presentation two years ago and didn't label it. Now I can't remember what it is! Can anyone identify this mineral for me?
d_day 350
Looks like kyanite to me.

tfrandy 1
I'm almost inclined to think it could be actinolite.
fuss 41
I'd guess one of the Amphibole asbestos minerals based on the photo. Edited March 6, 2020 by fuss
lpro 2020 0
I may have figured it out. I think this was a quick grab meant to show chlorite, although I'd never identify it as that from its appearance. I was also wondering about asbestos, and I like the kyanite answer! Thank you all! Old Tom 1,108
If the long strands are fibrous I would almost go with asbestos. From the pic they almost look crystalline. Asbestos forms in a crack from one side to the other unlike the picture. Old Tom
Jimale 41
D-Day , is close to the answer, kyanite.
