Does that mean LSD because on Adams other thread they are all talking of going to Quartzsite and then you say around March 21. Old Tom
BillM 12
Bill, Being a “new guy,” I didn’t know you’d also lost your wife. I lost my wife Joanna in 2015. My condolences to you, my friend. 1

Brian Carlson 3
Is Nugget Shooter's outing in March still on? I have not seen any information about it in awhile. Thanks for any info.
BillM 12
I'm in. This will be my first trip to the Quartzite area. Who else is going? Chime in. NuggetShooter Bill, are there coordinates on the camping spot? I assume RV access isn't a problem.

I'm in a 27' Class C and there are some areas I can't maneuver but for the most part slow 3 mph-ish and no problems.
Dig It 15
I am also in Quartzite area... For a couple more weeks..
AaronBazor 53
I'm planning on being there the Monday or Tuesday before the outing and stay till the following Monday. It's been 15 years since I have been in Quartzsite but thinking I may be able to camp across the road south of the GPAA Claim. Can anyone confirm that for me? I'll keep an eye out incase Bill does a head count of how many people will be there. Edited March 8, 2020 by AaronBazor To not start a new message
Nugget Shooter 4,614
General Camp Area is here fellers, this is a low key outing and we will bring a grill for Saturday afternoon and everyone bring their own Steak or Whatever to cook at the group potluck dinner. There are GPAA and Roadrunner Club Claims in the area as well as the Quartzsite club you can join in town and there is easy RV access at camp areas...

Oregal1976 271
I was actually thinking about going to this outing... Until a bunch of idiots decided to go panic shopping and hoarded toilet paper and bottled water. The shelves have been empty in my area for a couple of weeks now & we're down to our last roll of TP here at home. So it looks like I'm going to have to stay home and hunt toilet paper instead of gold nuggets.

There should be enough trash magazines coming to the house to help out till the pandemic is over. Old Tom
BillM 12
Well 💩, I hate to say it, but I’m going to stay home in light of all the news and the rapidly changing circumstances. Disappointed to miss out. Have a great time and find that gold!
fredmason 1,135
Tom, that was before they started using glossy paper...😇😇

There were still some softer pages but you avoided the glossy pictures. I heard that the catalog was made originally especially for that reason, to put in the out house and read while...…………. But soon after we modernized and went inside. I shed a tear when they blew up the old Sears catalog building on Roosevelt Blvd. outside of Philly. It was the end of an era and now Sears is gone completely. I got the explosion somewhere on film, got to get it out and watch it again. Old Tom
Arthur66 23
Am in Benson, original plan was to hit the outing on our way home. Given the current situation, will be staying in Benson for foreseeable future. Not taking my 86 yr old dad back to the bay area till this burns out. He can stay here and play music with his friends. Am leaning towards driving over for a day of hunting though. Haven't gotten out down here near as much as I'd hoped. It's a 4 hr run... that's a fur piece for a day trip. So we'll see. Anyone down in this corner of the state looking for a hunting buddy give me a shout. Edited March 17, 2020 by Arthur66 Distance.
RoamingRavenRV 7
FYI for those headed to Quartzsite. It has empty shelves. Had to go to all four stores (not the tents - don't know what they have) to get a few can goods and was told trucks are coming in with supplies today.
fredmason 1,135
Have a great time, Bill and Co. wish I could play but I can not.... I hope the big ones rise up and shine on you fred
Mike Furness 1,513
Well I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that I will not make it to the outing. I have the flu and not willing to share it with all of you. The good news is that it is definitely NOT Corona Virus(Covid-19). So on that note I hope you all have a great time and find some amazing yellow chunks!
Old Tom 1,101
Hey old man, take care of yourself and thanks for thinking of others. We won't make it to Quartzsite either this year due to serious family sickness. I'll save your shot of Crown Royal for next time. Old Tom
DOC 811
I was looking forward to this outing but like others, I am going to sit this one out. Things are a bit crazy in Las Vegas. Stores have been almost wiped out. We are pretty well stocked. Just not a good time to be too far away from home. People are already acting loony. We have a city that runs on tourism. We have a city where casino provide the majority of jobs. Those casinos have to be supplied with food and drink and linens and all types of peripheral business that exist because casinos use those businesses. Those casinos also pay the majority of taxes to make this state run. Well, that's come to a complete halt right now. People have no money when there are no jobs. How long will it be when people can't even buy what sparse amounts of food there are because they have no money. Desperation sets in and people do desperate things. So have fun gang and stay safe.
