Help identify these from NH

Recommended Posts

The Red ones do look like rose quarts to me, but could be staining from iron; the white ones normal quarts.  At first I thought the Green was copper, but when I zoomed in, it was moss. The black stuff in the rocks not sure, but when I’ve crushed quarts, it always had a black magnetic hematite in the crushed sands.

Here are three rock shops that could help you with local NH rocks.

Santerre's Stones and Stuff, Epping NH

Dondero's Rock Shop North Conway NH

Maine Mineral and Gem Museum, Bethel ME

Very hard to tell exactly what you have from a picture alone ... so if you live in NH try one of these shops. Or perhaps do a search for 'Rock Shops' in your home state. Most are pretty friendly folks and willing to help new rock hounds with ID. Good luck.

Can anyone help identify these I found in NH. Rose quartz? Trying to give these as an xmas present and want to be able to tell them what it is.

Thanks,

-Cory

I don't see any rose quartz. The red mostly likely is just iron staining on quartz. Not sure what the specimen with green moss is. The white specimen is quartz as well.
