Leaverite as in leave it right where you found it.John  Use a knife to id-it it cracks,crumbles or gores crunch usually not gold as it is soft as a general rule .

No. It is not the mineral most commonly called "fools gold". Iron and copper sulfide minerals are often referred to as "fools gold" and your specimen is neither.

 "Fools gold" is any mineral that someone mistakes for gold. So if your rock is being mistaken for gold then it is indeed "fools gold".

So if someone thinks it is gold it is "fools gold".

If you are asking if it us the mineral commonly known as "fools gold" then no, it is not fools gold.
