Is this rock special or not?

Recommended Posts

Please upload a JPG file.  As a rule, I do not click on links to look up pics.

Welcome to the forum Rockder!

I have edited your OP to include the photo, but as the 2 members here have said it's best to upload the photo in your post because very few if any members here will take a chance on clicking on a link from someone they don't know and take a chance of getting a computer virus, malware or any number of scams out there.

I have my computer very well protected because as an Administrator here I have to check all links posted to be sure they don't put our members at risk, if I find a questionable link or someone reports it as a issue I remove them quickly, but I don't always make it a habit to add photos for new members that should of been posted in the OP, I have made exception this one time.

I'm thinking the silvery looking portion might be mica, but just a guess

igneous intrusive rock, could be a granite or granitoid of sort.

Posted (edited)

As fine a specimen of leaverite as one could find.

Looks like a good pond skipping rock.

Nothing of any value.
