Red_desert
Did they come out of a river? There was a Cherokee girl once, living in the SE corner of Tennessee, found what she called tumble stones. Were supposed to be a type of quartz crystal rock formed in the river. I don't know, that is the story I got on them. It's been a long time since looking at photos of that stone, again hard to tell just by looking. 4meter
The photos do not tell us much. The rock could be a quartzite, an impure marble or a course grain limestone. Put a drop of warm vinegar on the rock and see if it fizzes. If it fizzes its marble or a course grain limestone; if not its a quartzite. Did it come Tennessee or elsewhere?
