GeoJack
I used a local source on some of my first specimens but stopped after I had to ask for the gold that dropped out of the rock during the HF bath. "Oh, you wanted that gold as well?". Uh, yeah, that 3 grams would be nice to have. Also, used tongs on the specimen as it was retrieved from the solution, knocking even more gold from the piece. 2
GeoJack
Sierra Chemicals has the fluids, I'm going down to get some more 35% hydrogen peroxide that I used to "boil" off the calcite on specimens.

You can use Teflon tape to wrap or tie the specimens for dunking in the hfl acid. Teflon is impervious to hfl acid. Could also weave a specimen "basket" with using Teflon tape.
