Gold in utah

Recommended Posts

Been  a little while sense I posted the gold in utah is well and becoming easier to find,  I now have a few claims placer mostly all west of slc. a hint, i have found is that most of our gold  in utah never makes it to a stream look for it on the hillsides and old  dry creeks that have not seen water for a very long time. Also look for green copper stains. Just some tips I have used.

It is hillside gold. there is very little in the stream out west so I have a 375 gallon. Tank , I recalculate  and can run several hundred gallons of dirt.

Very nice gold for Utah, that 1/4 inch picker is rare indeed. I’m retired now, so I’ll have a lot more time to get out and look around with my detector and sluice.

Congrats on your claims grim1

Hey there grim. Fellow Utahn here. I've been watching your posts from afar for a couple years. Seems like you've got it figured out. Would love to pick your brain about Utah one of these times. This is about all I've found over the years growing up in this great state. 2-3 grams give or take, and who knows how many gallons of material lol. Would love more insight on how u go about hitting hillside gold here. And if not, please just post more of ur success! Haha, it keeps me going!
