German, should shoot a .32 acp cartridge. My grandpa had one and it was a fun shooter. Just jammed a lot.
I didn't see stamp to indicate the caliber but there should be a 7.65 mm stamped on it somewhere . . .?
(Under different lighting, I was able to make out the stamp on the left side of the receiver)
It looks like a CZ50 model 27 to me. A Czeck pistol. It was one of the first double action semi autos.
I could definitely be wrong but the insignia and the writing indicate it.
Just my two cents.
On the left side just past the modell 27 it says Kal 7.65 which is equal to .32 ACP
