darn Elizabeth Warren !

DOC

Recommended Posts

Finally got my stitches out.  16 of them.  Last time I let Elizabeth Warren around me with that tomahawk of hers.

Biopsy said that the piece that was cut out had clean margins and had gotten all of it.  There was 1 mm of clear skin all around the margins where the cut was made.  I was lucky.  Makes a difference when you catch it early.

The doctor said the left side of your brain is where logical thoughts are processed.  He said that being I was a gold prospector, obviously I didn't use that part of my brain anyway.

Thank you for all the well wishes.

Doc

Gonna be a nice scar! Keep putting the petroleum jelly on it. Helps with the healing.

Take your anti boitics also.....if they gave them to you.

Heal up bud.

Boy that is healing nicely Doc.  You could always say that you were in a bar fight but you should see the other guy.

Leave old Lizzy alone, she's Trump's pecking partner.  :thumbsupanim

Too old to worry about scars.  Between, hernia repair, rotator cuff surgery with three titanium pigtails, elbow surgery where they cut the head of the radial bone off, three titanium pins in my hip.  Hell I'm good to go!

That's all minor stuff compared to some of our compadre's that have had open heart surgery and by-pass surgery.  I feel darn lucky that all the stuff I have had done was just day surgery stuff.

Got me a nice scar on my chest Doc, a five way bypass.  Not as bad as some guys though.  Went in for a check up and stayed a week.  No heart attack or damage to the heart so I recovered very well.  Got some of the other stuff you had and am working on the knees next.  I'm a little scared about that because of my age.

Really sorry to hear that. Hope he can overcome this somehow. I wish him the best.

Yes, He needs prayers if you pray, this is a really rare thing, and if its not brought under control, you just stop breathing in your sleep. Its treatable, but not cureable. He is in the hospital, Emanuel in Turlock Ca. Grubstake

Depends on what needs done I'd say Old Tom, given the new techniques n all.. The guy who hosts our poker game just turned 90.. Not exactly sure what he had done, but he was in n out the same day & off crutches < week.. My neighbor who had kneecap replacement though? Different story.. Was out in a day or two but laid up for awhile & longer before the limp was gone.. He was maybe 70 at the time & said after the fact he wouldn't want to go through it later in life.. FWIW..

Al, It's not that I am afraid of the operation itself, It's the anesthesia.  I never had any trouble with it but some Doc's won't handle you  at my age.  My dad died on the table at 90 years old but he had heart problems.  I've got to get something done as I'm starting to walk like an old man.  :olddude:

I think you were extremely lucky to get that bypass before a cardiac event could cause damage to the heart.  Old Tom you look pretty darn good to me.  You are still active and I am always happy to see you at the outings!
