wet/dry washer
but are goats not the Greatest Of All Times?
Bedrock Bob
You are right Fred. It is a strange attraction or repulsion that humans have with things like tobacco and alcohol. I personally can't stand the effects of alcohol. I like to have a beer but most of the time I can't drink a whole one. I like to sip tequila but I have to stop as soon as I start feeling it. About once a year I have 2-3 beers and I always feel like crap after an hour or so. I just want to go to bed. Cigarettes and most cigars are crap. I just want away from it and I can't stand the smell. BUT... A real cigar made from properly cured leaves and rolled in a quality wrapper is one of the most delicious taste/smell experience on the planet IMHO. Common sense dictates that you should stay away from the stuff. But personally I would much rather sit and enjoy a good cigar than drink any type of alcohol. I think cured tobacco is delicious and I like the effects of the tobacco a whole lot better than the alcohol. So I like tobacco so much I can only enjoy it once every few years. Since I don't like alcohol very much I can drink as much as I want. Yeah, humans are strange. 2
Sonoran Dave
Bringing this subject back to soap, why use goats milk in the soap formula? What purpose does it serve? I see it used a lot in homemade soaps, but never understood why. Is it just an abundant filler? There is not a large demand for goat milk these days and maybe this is a way to use an unwanted product? They used to tan leather with piss, not because it was better, but because it was abundant and more importantly...cheap. The origin of the phrase "so poor they don't have a pot to piss in" comes from the time when you could always round up some coin by selling the family's urine to the local tannery. I can imagine what that smelled like on a hot day.
Morlock
Probably because it sounds exotic.
Bedrock Bob
I like the goat soap because the local ladies are making it. They have long braids and big round bottoms and raise goats. So I am a big fan of goat milk products. I'd wear piss tanned moccasins if they were making them. Sometimes it is best not to ponder the goats too much and simply lather up. You know what I'm sayin'? 1

Ok, that is a reason I can fully stand behind.
fredmason
Well, my Mother's cure for smoking may have something to do with my extreme dislike of tobacco. Back when I was about 6 and my brother was 8 we were caught with cigarettes...my Mom took us in the house and gave us a cigarette to punish us...that was nothing. So, she gave us a pinch of Copenhagen and the cig...she let us spit once-I was no fool I spit that crap out... She gave me a bigger pinch and the cig and made me swallow the pinch.... Then she got worried , as I was turning some odd color...stuck my finger down my throat to make me puke... I never wanted to smoke again!!! It did not work for my brother... fred 1 1

Goat milk has a high level of fat so it is more moisturizing, it contains ingredients that nourish skin, and it contains alpha-hydroxy acids that help remove dead skin. I do not make medical claims (as it's illegal) but there are ppl with skin issues that will only use goat milk soap because of the good results. How's that for a few reasons? 2
Sonoran Dave
Please pass along my regards to your auntie for answering my question I didn't even consider the fat content. That makes perfect sense.
