DolanDave
Got out today with Chris (bsumbdy). Most of the day was partly cloudy, and gave us a little break from hot weather. Chris, gave me a pointy finger today, while he hiked over the hill to hunt. We both left today with some gold. Chris got 6.4 grams, I got 5.8 grams. Also came across two young desert tortoises today. That 22 ounce find in Gold Basin area is just a rumor, there was no pics or proof... Edited August 15, 2018 by DolanDave 1

wet/dry washer
Should never pick up a desert tortoise. Their only water supply is their urine, picking them excites them, and they'll drain their urine. Saw a one in a pocket in a wash, coming through the next day it was still there, it couldn't get out, got behind it and pick it up, took it up the wash and put down in green grass area. Still there few days later. Smallest one have ever seen, less than three inches. Nice gold.
pairadiceau
Excellent and important tip regarding the critter. I saw one recently in the El Paso’s, had a brief chat and moved on. One can’t waste ones energy or time when doin lead removal.... thank you Bob 2

DesertRatPatriot
Nice day. Theres more to detecting than just finding the gold, like the wild life or finding an old trash pile from the old timers. I'm sure we've all found some cool stuff that wasn't gold. But It's always nice to find both!

Micro Nugget
In a "Gold Nugget Pageant" those beachwear optional shots would rate a 10. Kudos for a great "America's Got Special Talent" performance!!
