Hello all,

We finally got out today after weeks and weeks of crappy weekend weather. Cameron and my father-in-law found a few cool relics but nothing major. I was able to squeeze out another specimen from our heavily worked patch. Ended up weighing 5.5 grams. Not huge but should clean up nicely. Take care everyone.

Wow, very nice Dan.  Glad you were able to finally make it out.  Looks like the wait was worth it.  :thumbsupanim

Congrats on another really nice specimen !!

Well this one was pretty brittle and wasn't working out real well cleaning, so crushed it and pulled 2.5 grams out of it. It actually had more in it than I expected. Take care everyone.

Nice pile of gold Dan. I can tell by looking at the speci where its from. I have to say it does not hold together well if you hydrofluoric it. unless you want to keep the speci the only other option is crush it. I burned down a few from that area and they all ended up a pile of gold, just the nature of the gold in that area. not worth the hydrofluoric acid and trouble to cook it. good luck on more, that's one of those areas that just keeps on giving. :thumbsupanim

Hello Bob, good to hear from ya. Fortunately this is the only crumbly one I have found. The quarts was really rotted and decomposing around the gold. I haven't used any HF on any of them yet but I am still trying to locate some here locally. Then I might test one out. Take care.
