Sunday's Hunt Detecting

Recommended Posts

Got out last Sunday in this wonderful weather we've been having lately, with my buddy Chris. We decided to hunt a new spot, as the old spots were petering out faster than the 5th hour of a Viagra. But this new spot I think is gonna be hour 1.....:nutty::arrowheadsmiley:

  Enclosing a pic....

Great looking Gold Dave, that is an interesting area where we were, cant wait to get back there. Funny how the gold gives off a "trashy" signal there. Also my giant deep nugget signal in the clay lol. Anyone have experience with red clay setting off the GPZ?

Congratulations Dave !!

A 1/4 ounce makes for one great day of detecting.  :yesss:

Thanks everyone....

Chris, that gold does give some choppy signal on the 7000. I did have clay hits on the 5000 a few years back, the mineralization of the clay gives the detector almost like a mellow zip, not quite as good as a nugget, but can still make you think you got something, I guess we learn the hard way with 5 foot craters in the ground....

Hey now, "that's some nice looking gold",... I'll bet it did make that 7000 react with a weird-sounding response.  I think Bill Southern and Uncle Ron have found nuggets that look much like that down around LSD here in Arizona.  They look sort of geothermal-formed??  Gary
