chris1987
Hi there just wondering if anyone has any idea of what this anomaly is on the inside of my meteorite and a similar thing on the outside? and maybe if anyone can help me dentify the type of OC it may be? Guest
Sure looks like a quartz and iron mix to me
adam
The object looks molten-ish....I suppose thats because it was a blazing inferno as it propelled itself into our atmosphere at such high speeds ?
homefire
Not so meteorite like to me. Looks like cemented fine breccia with magnetite inclusions.
DolanDave
Doesnt look like one, like others say, looks like some quartz in it.. Edited February 24, 2017 by DolanDave
fredmason
The slice appears to be an OC of some type. Assuming the blob is a close-up that appears to be an out of place inclusion...I think you need one of those probes and a real expert to find out... just for grins I will guess a lunar inclusion from god knows where or when... fred
chris1987
Haha to the untrained eye it may look like it is not a meteorite or maybe the pictures are bad? Honestly I kinda expected better on here. The chondrules are every colour in the book, and I've been researching dark inclusions which I now think it maybe. billpeters
It looks very similar to my NWA 869. The chondrule cluster just is part of the rock makeup. It would take a met lab tech to postulate how it was formed and it's significance. billpeters.

chris1987
Thank you for your input everyone, i hope I didn't offend anyone on that last post, It is 100% a meteorite so please take that into consideration whilst analyzing the next photos. My last photos may of not been clear enough so I will polish up and take some more if you guys enjoy solving a good puzzle?
chris1987
Here's a couple of close ups of its beautiful shocked chondrules and that weird dark inclusion thing deep in the matrix
munroney
Looks like an inclusion, possibly carbonaceous? Here's a pic of a carbonaceous chondrite. Looks similar with the yellow/white/brown. Edited April 7, 2017 by munroney
