Morlock
Anyone know what happened to the chinese turquoise rough market? Used to be eBay was flooded with it but now it's very scarce.

bigrex
Some of it was also fake. I have heard a number of the larger pieces could be plastic. I still see quite a bit of quartz crystals and other Chinese specimens. Although one still have to be careful about some of those, most are probably ok. Remember the tooth test I mentioned here on the forum? AzNuggetBob Edited February 16, 2017 by AzNuggetBob
Morlock
I can spot that fake blue dyed howlite from a mile away. There used to be some cheap, great looking stabilized rough come out of China. Just seems like it just disappeared. Here in the USA, Colbaugh has most of the market but high priced. Natural turquoise is ridiculously high. I can understand why as it compromises only 10 to 20 percent of all mined turquoise. The rest is stabilized.
