fredmason
Appears to be mostly metal and very rusty...I suspect you will need to get a lab to check it...it could be a big piece of scrap iron from several hundred possible reasons and seasons... fred
billpeters
Absolutely not a meteorite! Standard slag metal. Has all the characteristics. Solid grey metal, not a meteorite, Stone one side metal the other, not a meteorite. Shape, totally not a meteorite. Rust on metal parts identical to slag, not a meteorite. Being magnetic is not a indicator of a meteorite. There are billions of natural stones in Nova Scotia which attract a magnet, none of which are meteorites. There is also scrap and dumped metal everywhere for various reasons over the last 400 years. Your 'rock' has no characteristics of a meteorite whatsoever. Hence, it has no value, unless the metal itself has value. Keep looking down, though, they are out there. billpeters
