GeoJack
I just purchase a Textile Cleaning Spray Gun for cleaning minerals, mainly quartz / gold specimens. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Textile-Spot-Cleaning-Gun-110VOLT-pressure-adjustable-without-an-air-compressor-/141904256336?ssPageName=ADME:X:RRNTB:US:3160 Works great and no chemicals. I have some large clear plastic pentagon cookie jugs that I stick my hand in holding the specimen and shoot into the jug to contain the spray and any materials blasted off. The spray hurts at arms length, very high pressure pulses so learn quickly to not shoot hand, bad.
Hoser John
I use my ultrasound to clean specimens but that is indeed a interesting tool as could replace some acid etching applications. May hurt if you miss but with hydrofluoric well it more than hurts. Thanks for teaching a old dog a new "safer" trick. John
Swampstomper Al
While that's all well and good, what I'd really like to know is how you got a 500g capacity scale to register 525.9..? Swamp
GeoJack
That worried me as well and why I removed some material. ;-)
