goldrivermike
I don't post very often but I thought I'd share yesterday's trip. Went up to my claim up near Nevada City, CA with one of my claim partners and his son. Worked the morning clearing the road into the claim then spent the afternoon detecting with my Gold Bug 2 and the 10" coil. I found a small patch and dug up these few small pieces. It was fun diggings one after another with the Gold Bug 2 in "audio boost" and "iron disc"

Uncle Ron
I don't hunt my GB2 in Disc, but I have learned to use it to ID gold vs. ferrous and lead... 99% reliably! ..Cheers, Unc!

goldrivermike
I should have clarified that I use Iron Discriminate only to help identify if the target is iron but detect with it off. I have installed a by-pass button that while pressed, it is in iron discriminate and while released, in normal mode. Thanks for all the responses?

While in Nevada last week I was in "prospecting mode" with the Iron Disc ON, as I was covering a lot of ground and limited time I use this mode to find the "easy" targets without digging every red rock mineralized target. Love the GB 2, is my first detector other than the old Fisher my folks bought back in the '60's when we were wee little ones.
