pondmn
Yesterday I talked to 14 elementary school age junior rockhounds and their parents that are members of our Motherlode Gem and Mineral Society in Modesto, Ca. They were very interested and willing students. I seeded a large area with a couple of rolls of pennies and about 25 dollars in clad. It was a finders keepers event. I brought seven coin detectors and members added enough for each youngster to be able to use one. The best find for the day was a bicentennial half dollar that was not planted. I do not know who had more fun--the parents or the kids or me.
Hoser John
Our Juniors Division of the Shasta Gem and Mineral has over 30 juniors, their own classes, they have tables at our gem shows and retail many items to help fund the Rock Shop. Fantastic thing you did, nuttn' but respect. John
nugget108
Good job. The kids actually enjoy the heck out of detecting. I wish we had something like that in our area.
