Redbeard
I find myself in Tucson this weekend and would like to sneak away to go check out some meteorites and meet some meteorite folks. I've looked up the hotel where a lot of vendors are but is there a particular place and time where I can go see displays or go visit the hotel and meet people? Mikestang
Hotel Tucson City Center, all day every day. You'll see everyone who has anything to do with meteorites there at one time or another. Ramada right up the street has several excellent meteorite dealers as well. Redbeard
Thanks. Do you go to rooms or are the set up in a common area? Are you there?
Mikestang
Rooms, I was there last weekend, go about every year. Have fun!
mn90403
Get a show guide and you will see some of the additional dealers but the Hotel Tucson as Mike said is THE spot for the main dealers but if you are wanting some off the beaten path items check out a meteorite table at a mineral dealer. They may not want the premium price if you are a good buyer. Edited February 13, 2016 by mn90403
Redbeard
Thanks for the info. I spent a few hours there and met some good folks and saw a bunch of space rocks. I even bought a cute 7.5g Chelyabinsk. Lots of the vendors were gone or shutting down. Next year I'll try to make it earlier and longer. I got to hold some lunar and Martian pieces which was pretty cool. I didn't spend much time looking at the amazing beautiful minerals. Next time for them too.
