Mineral Chest of Drawers

Recommended Posts

I have been working on the construction of a chest of drawers to keep my mineral collection in now for 2 years and last Sunday I finished the project. For a first project like this, it came out good. I see areas that could be improved on for the next chest. I am now moving my collection into the chest. I have not seen some of these specimens for 15 years now. They have been in boxes, stored in garage awaiting a permeant storage spot and a curio to display them in. Now I have both. Here are some pics of the finished chest.

Thanks everyone, I'm tickled pink with the project.

Relichunter2: The chest is not fire-proof, it is made of pine and Birch plywood, I was trying to keep the cost to a minimum & there is no lock on it. I do not have any precious or semi-precious material in the collection; just various silicate and carbonate minerals, some fossils and various rock types. These are valuable to me but worthless to most.

I will be posting pics of the collectioin as time allows.
