2016!!!! Gold!!!

Recommended Posts

Looks like I'm the first to post my 2016 findings... I froze my ass off this morning before it finally warmed up. Picked up these 10 small bits of gold.. Notice how a few of them are really really small for a detector. Can't beat the gold bug 2.. Fun detecting today, didn't see a soul out there. Everyone must be hung over.

I think you have mastered the GB2 equal to that of a 10th degree black belt. Excellent detecting bd.

I took my Xterra 705 out yesterday and got the skunk. I did not see or hear another soul the whole time out there. I did find a couple of boot tacks and a speck of rust. The most interesting was a shell casing 6" deep in what I had hoped was a wind blown (eolian?) placer field on top of a flat area between two small creeks that some good nuggets had supposedly come from. Made me wonder how the shell casing got so deep in a flat area. I'm sure the center fired casing had been buried for decades, but I also wonder how all that dirt had been put on top of it.

I really did enjoy being back in AZ and can't wait to get back for good in May. I just wish the weather was this comfortable out here in the summer.

Glad you're getting some. I got skunked, though I did see a lot of people in the LSD area. I think there was a GPAP meet up and possibly some others.

Good shooting.

Anyone who shows me gold from there I have respect for as it is not a place to give up any to me.

Later this winter I'm going back for a few days and kill the skunk. I'll probably need a tracker because I can't find that skunk by myself.

Heyyyy, I found one of those yesterday -- the thing in the middle..

What are they called -- nickel, or nick-el if you're from Ron's (Superman's) home planet I suppose..

I know it doesn't sound like much, but a furly great find when considering

everything below silver was discriminated out on the ol' coin shooter..

What..? Ok, yeah, you busted me.. It was a sun baker..

Great shootin' once again Mr. Dash sir, ^5..!
