Makes me long for the days of wearing a jacket in the morning and not wearing snake gaurdz. Looks like fun, how many years ago?

That was 2011 correct Tom? That was the first day you found a nugget with your gold bug pro. Good memories at the empty pockets patch.

It was a lot of fun that day way back up in the hills. I don't think that I had a metal detector yet but I was praying to the gold gods just like the rest of those fools. That was one patch that provided a lot of gold but won't be good again until a hundred year flood rolls some more yeller into it.

Empty pockets patch? Sounds like there's a 1/4 oz to be found, again!

If you had one more guy standing up hill with a smoking 6 shooter it would look as if there had been an ambush from a claim jumper.

I just don't know of any hobby that is as fun as this one.

Looks to me like you guys were napping on the job. Finding all those nuggets will make a guy sleepy for sure.

Hey Swampy, didn't you figure that there might be a fourth devotee there that day? Actually young Tom was taking that pic while the others were groveling in the dust. Somewhere there is a glass vile of nuggets just small enough to fit a hole in one's pocket that's in that wash waiting to be found.

I like Doc's explanation of the whole fracas. Looks like an old time shoot-out all right.

Look funny? Absolutely not. That looks like you guys are having a blast. It is seriously a great picture. It's good that you have a great bunch of buddies to share those times with.

I did end up Drywashing that stretch for well over 1/4 oz. Last time I was there all exposed bedrock was covered in overburden.

Good pic Tom,

That's what I call getting out the fine toothed comb! It's not called precious metal for nothing. Don't leave even a speck, Mother Nature has plenty more where that came from, and she doesn't need it near as bad as we do.

Love that beautiful dirt!

Regards,

MetalliKile
