Recommended Posts

GEORGETOWN, Calif. (KCRA) —A person who was panning for gold discovered a partial skull while digging through some dirt near Georgetown.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Department said the suspected human skull will be examined by experts.

Deputies said the discovery was made Tuesday morning at the Bear Creek picnic area off Traverse Creek Road.

Due to the skull's decomposition, deputies decided to bring in anthropologists to assist with the investigation.

No other body parts were found.

So who was it?
