Searchcoils

Hello Everyone,

I have been out of the hobby for about a year now due to a new career, but have just picked up a new GPX 5000. Yes, I know the GPZ 7000 is just around the corner, but I can't see myself spending almost $7k (I'm guessing on the price) for the new unit right now. So my question is: In the last year have there been any new "breakthroughs" in searchcoils? Or is the 14" Goldstalker and the 17" NuggetFinder Advantage still the go to coils for gold? Also looking to get a shooter coil! I had the NuggetFinder 8x6 when I had my first 5000 and liked it, but is there anything "superior" to it now? Thanks in advance for any responses.

You can never get out--- gold fever is not curable.

BTW--- few months back I swore I saw you on Pawn Stars--- was that you or I'm just confusing people...

Mac.....yes, that was me on Pawn Stars. I sold them one of my meteorite finds. The episode first aired July 10th. So, nope...you're not confusing people. :thumbsupanim

Chris, I'd use whatever coils it on the end of your metal detector right now. All those coils are great but putting one over gold is really all that matters. The stock 11" Mono is a gold getter. Save all those $200~$300~$400's that you were going to spend on coils and spend it on gas money out to the goldfields instead. I guarantee you'll find more gold if you do.
