Dirtbike, Dink and fun

Welp, did a half day hunt today.

Decided to take the dirt bike out and hit a wash.

Loaded up the 5000 and the GB2 in the backpack and took off.

Got about as far as I could go and walked 1/4 mile to my spot.

The wash just got too bouldery. <------new word

Did some placering first off while I had the energy...nutten

Took the ML out for a walk after that, didn't get any targets for about 2 hrs.

Finally a old rusty bullet.

Ran out of wash so I hopped over to another one. About 3/4 the way down im thinking this is going to be a skunk day.

But, then comes the nice mellow signal....yes! Got it in the scoop and finally saw a little yellow :)
Yeeehah!...finally some gold.

Kind of small but I will take it. Doesn't even read on the gram scale.

Good half day out, Good Lord kept all my bones in one piece and got some gold.

Nice looking Bike Tom, lots of suspension. I'll bet its a nice ride. :thumbsupanim

The leggins are a good idea too. when riding If I'm in a real bad area with jumpin choy, cat claw or prickley pear I wear my waist high snake chaps. the cat claw doesn't even stick to them.

any gold is always better than no gold. :yesss:

good luck on more. AzNuggetBob

Tks guys..

Bob..yup its a great ride. I might do some sprocket changes to gear it a little lower though.

That wash beat me up today. Really sandy with a lot of big rocks. Lots of low branches and tons of sticky stuff :)

Arms were feeling like rubber about half way in. My shirt is now heading for the rag bin.
Think im going to map out ways to get in up high on the ridges, then drop down.

BB....Im old and feble ...a Rokon would beat me to death :) I need some suspension!
Adam: Yah..it was great to hear that little guy. Made my day :) Did a massive reverse sweep of the whole area, but alas

no more. Go figure. Might be some BG2 stuff in that wash though. Its pinned on Google earth :)

Tom, I think you might be surprised at how gentle a Rokon can be...I've ridden dirt bikes for over 50 years & find mine a lot easier on my body than any dirt bike would be...you just have to go a lot slower.

Ya I agree Tom

change the primary sprocket if its not minimized already.

It looks like you have about a 42 or 44 tooth on the rear. (it should be marked.)

go up to a 48 or 52 tooth.

It will kill your top end speed but you will have a much better low end range.

it will climb hills better and not tend to spin the rear tire.

it will also start out in the sand better.

that is a 4 stroker right? looks like a honda.

also the rear shock is sometimes adjustable and the spring is color coded as far as stiffness.

If its cranked up to race it's going to beat you up.

Bob:
Tks for the advise

Your pretty observant! 42 on the rear and a 14 on the front.

I don't need top end speed.....

The suspension is nice and soft right now.

Nice little picker...

(I'd be getting a new scale if it can't read that 1/4? gram piece)

LipCa:

Its a tiny piece. Not the scales fault. But its gold! :)

Now Shep...do you think I would do that?
The bike is for solo runs or with Justin or if I want to go out and make myself sore.

Going out with Dad tomorrow.....hope to bust open some new ground :)
