Billyazprospector
I found some of this yesterday. Comes from west/central Arizona. My best guess is it is Volborthite. It appears to only form between cracks and not a solid vein within the host rock. Small crystal formations. I was first thinking Dioptase or Epidote but from all the pictures I see of Volborthite I am leaning more that way. Your thoughts?
adam
That's a tough call. According to the Bible of rockhound books ( Mineralogy of Arizona 3rd ed. ) it is very rare in Arizona and only noted in 3 counties; Gila, Apache, and Navajo. I would venture it is epidote
boulder dash
Agree with Adam looks like classic epidote.
