Thanks Nugget108

I'm doing my best writing these. sorry about the spelling.

Your right Ron. the main road going in cut straight across the upper part of the patch. I left it alone.
didnt want to upset the construction company or the realtor by digging in the road.
but I'll tell ya I do have more road patches Ive found in mining areas Im thinking about writing.

Did I ever tell you about the gold rush I started in the 24k club parking lot?

I was teaching a member how to tune his detector and hit a nugget.

they had to change the club rules on were members could dig to stop it.

Wish I had a photo of that. :laught16:

Rim
There was only one pad graded off within the main part of the patch. they used it to cover up a dump in there.
it was obvious some people had lived in there for some time. the vintage of the trash was 1920's-60's based on the glass.
I considered digging the dump(s) for coins, tokens and bottles.
but I have a saying "We dig no trash before it's time" and I was interested in the gold.

Heck Bob, spelling doesn't matter when we all can understand what your talking about. Gold language.

A while back we got into an old mine dump that was loaded with visible gold in white quartz. This piece I found I call the Jack

rabbit Racking the dump from bottom onto a couple of 4x8 sheets of ply wood and then detecting with GB2 and working to the top of the pile. Lots of this stuff was found.

enjoy

Allen

Hello All! Wanted to drop a picture of my FIRST nugget find. Took me like 5 outings, but thanks to the help on the forum, I got better and better at getting myself over the gold.

I found a gully that had been worked in the past (hand stacking, recent metal detector holes, dry washing). But I decided to give it a shot anyways because the gully was nice and small so I could cover the majority of the width with one swing. My rule was to cover every square inch low and slow and dig EVERY signal. It paid off.

Nice character. Looks kinda chunky. Based on recent knowledge I'd say it's on the plus side of a gram.....?

Well done! :D

Well I got back out for a couple days and scored four more nuggets, totalling about 3.4 grams. They range from .2 - 1.5 grams. The nugget on the far left is from last week. I call this photo Morning Motivation (To get up into the cold)

Very nice finds, Gold Tree. That one on the right looks like a cashew. Makes me hungry for more detecting.
