melanievoita
if it looks like this on the outside in the cracks? is this rock worth getting? is it like a geode inside maybe er no?
Au Seeker
It's hard to say, the only way you will know is to cut it open.Even in places were people find many geodes, they never know what going to be inside until it's cut open, in these places many times they find a wonderful unique treasure and sometimes find nothing inside. Haderly
It doesn't hurt to bust or cut it open to see what is inside. This is one of my recent finds.

AuTSaurus
Nice find, Haderly, it looks like fire agate. If it is...is most fire agate enclosed when found, meaning do you(a person) usually have to break stuff open to find it?Greg
weaver hillbille
I tried to mimic nature by submerging one of my "12NNW" yard rocks in water for a few days, after which I froze it for a few weeks stil submerged in it's 1 gallon ziplock baggie of water. Upon thawing, I beat it to gravel and small "pretty bits" of rock ( using a 20# sledge). I was looking for more small quartzy vugs than the few peaking out on the surfaceof the aplite felsparoid(look it up ) . Turned out to not be much to it in the way of good baublite. It's hard to say, the only way you will know is to cut it open.Even in places were people find many geodes, they never know what going to be inside until it's cut open, in these places many times they find a wonderful unique treasure and sometimes find nothing inside. You have to break up all the rocks because some of the brightest pieces are hiding inside. Near the surface you can find pieces that are completely weathered out of the host rock. Luckily the bedrock is weather so the top few feet can be extracted with hammer and chisels. Once you get below the weathered surface more aggressive tactics are required. A lot of the best places are claimed but there are still some open areas that just take a little more effort. If timing works out I can get you into a good spot. Bob(AK)
Mel, like what was said before, find someone to cut it. Could have a window of crystals inside like this
