adam
Yep, just get those pieces out , and hope a few are gem quality and fracture free.....Peridot is still a fairly sought after gem.. Just hard to find bigger tuff
weaver hillbille
Olivine was the first mineral that got me hooked on dirt- used to dig it out of the DG embankment at school in 2nd or 3rd grade, 100 years ago. It was just small grains of green but I thought it was cool.
Scott W.
Thanks Adam, It looks like there is a few 1ct size on the outside. how does one get them out without fracturing them?
adam
Your probably just going to have to pound on the rock with a hammer or sledge , and take the risk. The ones that are whole should come out fine but the fractured ones are a lost cause.I think when it comes to mining them, you have to go through a lot of bad peridot to find just a few good ones..
