rockhoundlounge
This is my specimen platform for photography. I wanted to make a video of it because it's the easiest way to show how it works. All parts can be purchased for under $20.00. And it literally assembles itself. I cannot claim this design concept as completely my own creation as I have modified the design of another mineral photographer Pete Richards who posted his design online here: http://www.mineral-forum.com/message-board/viewtopic.php?p=12067&highlight=#12067 Edited August 21, 2014 by rockhoundlounge

rockhoundlounge
That first crystal made the stand look like a little rabbit! Cool idea ... Thanks. That's true I hadn't noticed that! Thanks for the comments. This setup has evolved over the years and it took many fails and tinkering with ideas before I found something that seems to work pretty well.
