Au Seeker 3,153
It's a blurstone , sorry I could resist, the photo is too blurry for me to try and attempt an ID, especially since I'm only a novice at IDing rocks.

Steel Pan 327
You're all wrong. It's a "Fuzz Fossil".Fossilized lower leg bone of a sheepwith bits of wool still attached. * petrified wood w/calsite? Almost opalized?
Rimshot 181
Could be a vein maybe?
Steel Pan 327
The photo taken at the "end", sure looks like it may almost be opalized.Looks like the end of a stick. Can ya see any "rings"?

Haderly 99
It looks like petrified wood. It won't fizz if it is petrified (silicated).
Rimshot 181
Thank's Haderly! I'll save it. It does look kinda like a piece of a branch. Edited May 29, 2014 by Rimshot
Steel Pan 327
It looks like petrified wood. It won't fizz if it is petrified (silicated).Only the white part.
Rimshot 181
Well I will say this, it's as smooth as a babies butt. The only petrified wood I seen in Az looked rough to me. I guess pea gravel could be deformed too, like everything else. Weird.
Steel Pan 327
Rollin' around in the pea gravel for the last 10,000 yrs could have polished the wood smooth.
Rimshot 181
AaaaHaaaaaaa!!!!! Found a picture of some petrified wood from I forget what nation, but not in the USA.I'm guessing the little rock I found was sap from the center of tree. Interesting..
Steel Pan 327
Sap or pitch usually becomes Amber.I think your guess of it being a branch or twig is correct.
Regmaglitch 103
I agree with Weaver Hillbilly. I does not look like the brecciated lavender Blurstone, or the druzy Blurstone. It's absolutely the Golden variety. Ben
Johnno 64
My bet fossilize wood
Rimshot 181
Hey that's cool Johnno. That's from the heart too. Maybe some petrified wood got into a rock crusher. I wonder what happened to the rest of it... That full size piece i seen on craigslist. It was about 1 1/2-2 feet long and they were asking $675.00 for it if I remember correctly. So the sap is amber...hmmm.. Edited July 7, 2014 by Rimshot
