El Dorado 964
I did a bit of trading with my bud Gus from NaturalGoldTrader.com . I needed some additional material to slab up and he has some of the best specie gold. Anyway, I was looking at a dark surface depression on the rock with my loupe and noticed it may be a vug. It went under the microscope and it is a crystal laden vug that has gold in it. Took awhile to meticulously clean out the vug of the packed in crud. Turned out awesome. Picture is only so so, was taken through the microscope with my iPhone. The second picture is from another very tiny vug that has free growing gold crystals coming from the quartz crystals. It was so tiny and my poor photo system could not capture it well. It will be sliced into slabs soon. Edited February 2, 2014 by El Dorado
mn90403 977
Those pics are pretty good considering the camera. How much of it is there to slice? I don't quite understand the size.Mitchel
El Dorado 964
The whole specie is about 1x1x2" and contains 23 grams of gold. I hope to get about 5-6 top quality cabs out of it.
The Found Dutchman 37
Nice specimen. I knew a guy who found a quartz crystal with a 1/8" cube gold cube imbedded right smack in the middle of the tip. Crystal itself was a little over 1/4" in diameter and perhaps 2" long. I don't know anyone who has found anything like that. It came from N. Nevada.
