Relichunter2
Just heard an interesting story about about slot machines that were gathered up in the June Lake Loop area and tossed in the lake. Most were taken apart and went to the scrap yard, some hidden in cold storage rooms and covered with saw dust. But some say that apprx. 170 were gathered and tossed into June Lake. The local chapter of the Clampers put up a monument besides the lake with information about this event. There were a few attempts at finding and recovering those machines, but they were not located. Back than Ole Jerry Brown was the attorney general of the state, seems that Nevadas gambling interests did not like having slots and or gambling houses in California, a little pay to the right politicians took care of their problem. d_day
I've always wanted to hunt for some slots. There used to be a casino boat anchored offshore somewhere back in the 20s and 30s. It got raided and all the machines were dumped overboard. I'd love to find those.
