sarahrose
Found a site that has tons of copper minerals, and found a few apache tears. Too bad the cooper minerals are hard to tumble, but I don't mind the way they are unpolished either....they make nice yard rocks. I'll polish the tears when I get some more...I wasn't quite sure of the actual location off perlite road, but now I know exactly where it is, so I'll go search for some more another time. The picture is of a piece of chrysocolla that was found while digging, I didn't exactly find it, but I had borrowed my shovel to someone else that was there, and he found a big piece, and this broke off, do he gave it to me for the use of the shovel...:-)
adam
Copper minerals are always fun to find......I was at a perlite location near superior one time...A "caretaker" approached me in a threatening manner wielding a double barrel sawed off shotgun...... sarahrose
The site I have been going to outside Florence has some big open shaft areas where people have prospected, so there are lots of tailing piles or whatever those big piles are called of material.....you can dig in the Piles and find good stuff, or dig in the ground and find better stuff.....the big open pits are scary as heck though....I wish there were fences around them!!! I just kept my son and dog close to us and no wandering about at all. Maybe next time I go out all bring some sticks with danger signs on them and put them by the holes.
