Real or not?

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a nice looking eucrite off eBay and saw a nice sized unclassified NWA for a very cheap price. I normally only buy from IMCA members, but none I know of had any smaller eucrite pieces. Do these look real? I've talked with the seller and he seems and looks legit, but want a second opinion.

Could be real meteorites, but knowing your seller is important. Seems he has lots of "unclassified NWA meteorites" and assigns weird numbers to them. That is suspect to me, no dealers I know of assign numbers like that to random NWA XXX rocks, so why do it? To look legitimate maybe? Who knows. They are not field collection numbers, that much is obvious. Anyone can make a COA, so don't let that fool you. If they're selling dirt cheap there's probably a reason. The NWA X you linked doesn't look right to me, it's much too light colored and has vesicles. Caveat emptor.
